Wearing head-to-toe black is a classic outfit choice and will always be my go-to for those days when I feel like I have nothing to wear.
As you can probably guess, today I wore head-to-toe black. I completely loved my outfit (not pictured below) because even though it was monochromatic black, I felt comfortable and didn’t really need to keep thinking about it. The photos below are from a different day where I basically wore all black, except my pants had white-stitched stripes.
So here I am, hanging out with Tre at our local mall. I have an all-black, all Ann Taylor ensemble on — a cropped staple sweater with high-waisted stitched stripe culottes. I typically decide to tuck in my top, but this particular outfit felt weird with it tucked in. I’m also wearing the Kaelyn 2 1/2 inch sandals that Ann Taylor is actually still selling for the summer. What I love most about the all-black ensemble is the fact that it really didn’t take much effort, but I got compliments on my outfit either way. It’s simple, it’s elegant, and it’s easy. If you ever have one of those off days when you tear up your closet looking for something to wear — I know I do — then you could always choose black. And if you’re feeling like you look too boring, pair it with a red lip! You can always make any monochromatic outfit pop with a bit of added color to either an accessory, makeup, or even nail color! Just have fun with it! My entire wardrobe is a very neutral color palette, so I wear monochromatic outfits a lot.
Honestly, I don’t understand why some people consider it like a taboo in fashion. I’ve met a lot of women who believe that black simply does not match black. They always have to wear some other color. It’s the same with all colors. If they wear white, they cannot wear more white in their outfit. I just… I just don’t get it. I would wear white and ivory. White and white. White and black. Black and black. The list goes on.
Anyway, the point is… wear what you want to wear. It doesn’t matter what other people think. If you think it’s cute, then it’s cute, damn it.
Can someone please tell me why I always do this pose?
I look like a gyroid from Animal Crossing…
