Inspired by Tre’s post, “Flipping It Around“, I decided to go shopping for something that looked very plain Jane when wearing it correctly, yet absolutely fabulous when wearing it backward.
Today, I went shopping at Urban Outfitters — a store, from which, I have not shopped in ages — and decided to buy a couple of items. The first being a charcoal gray skater dress that feels like heaven. The first thing I noticed was the material. Modal.
Can I just say that I absolutely love modal? I’m sure that if all my clothes were made out of modal, I would be a million times happier. Anyway, back to the dress.
So there was nothing really special about it — despite the material. But then… I had an epiphany. I noticed the scoop neck and high back line and, with Tre’s new trend in mind, I decided to try flipping it. She loved it, but most importantly, I loved it. It created an entirely new dress that felt and looked great! This dress is still available at Urban Outfitters! I bought it on sale for only $30! I love this thing and it is definitely going to be my go-to from now on.
Now, about that sweater…
This is a sweater that I have been wanted for… Well, for a really long time. I’ve looked at it online, I’ve admired it at the store, and I’ve even liked similar sweaters on Instagram. This sweater is the absolute definition of comfortable. It’s slouchy, over-sized, and knitted. It feels like I’m wearing a blanket. And the best part? It has humongous pockets. Again, it’s from Urban Outfitters and it’s about $60.
Still there. Go get one.
But seriously, though. The sweater is made out of cotton and acrylic, but just feels like a marshmallow when you wear it. I can honestly say that this is my favorite buy in a very long time. I can see myself owning it for many years. I’m planning on mainly using it to lounge around, but I would just love to see what it would look like paired with a LBD that has a lace trim…
Anyway, so today was a very fun day! I loved all the photos that Tre took of me and it was so much fun photographing her! I loved how she paired red and black polka dots with a grey and white striped sweater. She’s definitely a huge inspiration to me!
